Project-21
Our flagship program, Project-21 began in the diamonds of Piotrowski Park. In 2016, our founder Rey Raigoza, took charge of a Little League team at the park and got invited to compete at a tournament downstate. Reality set soon when they immdiately realized they were the only team sharing gear, with mismatched uniforms and unfortunately the team with the least amount of parents showing up to the Thursday morning game. Through these challenges came the idea of starting a free of cost baseball program for the youth with the requirement to participate in community service projects as a form of "payment".
The name, Project-21, is in reference to the all time great Roberto Clemente who spent his free time giving back to the people of his communities and those back home in Puerto Rico. We aim to embody the history of this great man with every practice we hold, every tournament we play and above all every community we serve. What began with about 20 kids has now grown to serving approximately 100 youth on a year round basis.
